Neighbourhood Spotlight: Downtown Dartmouth



Dartmouth, Nova Scotia is a bustling and growing city with a downtown that is becoming increasingly popular among residents and visitors alike. There are many reasons why downtown Dartmouth is a great place to live, work and play, and in this blog post, we will explore some of them.

Downtown Dartmouth is situated on the eastern shore of Halifax Harbour, offering stunning views of the water and the Halifax skyline. The area is also home to many parks, walking trails, and beaches, making it the perfect spot for outdoor enthusiasts.

There are plenty of options for coffee, drinks, and dessert too. When we are in the neighbourhood we love to dine at The Canteen, or stop at Sprout Therapy for a green juice!

Downtown is known for its unique and independent shops, offering a wide range of products, from handmade jewelry to locally sourced gifts. You can also find antique stores and vintage shops, making it the perfect spot for a day of browsing and shopping. A few of our favourites are Audrey's Little Shop of Plants, KEPT Gifts, and The Trainyard General Store

Community Spirit:
Downtown Dartmouth has a strong sense of community, with many events and festivals happening throughout the year, including the Dartmouth Natal Day Festival, the Dartmouth Makers Market, and the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. Not to mention, whenever you are around Lake Banook or Sullivan's Pond in the warmer months, the locals are out and about enjoying nature and what the neighbourhood has to offer!

Easy Commute:
Downtown Dartmouth is well connected to the rest of Halifax and beyond, with excellent transit links and easy access to highways. It's also a walkable community, with many amenities located within walking distance.
